Do I Need a Root Canal? Common Warning Signs
Root canal treatment may be needed when the tooth nerve is inflamed or infected. Warning signs can include lingering hot or cold pain, spontaneous throbbing, swelling, a gum bump, or pain when biting. An exam and X-ray help determine whether the tooth can be saved.
